Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit

The LEGO® Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit (set 42179) is a 526-piece LEGO Technic set released in 2024, modeling the Earth-Sun-Moon system with a hand-cranked orbital mechanism. Turn the crankshaft to drive the Earth and Moon around the Sun, watching the rotations that produce seasons and lunar phases. Printed months and moon-phase indicators track the Earth's progress through the year, turning the build into an interactive astronomy demonstration. A rare educational entry in the Technic line that turns engineering play into a tabletop orrery for curious builders and classrooms alike.
